American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, increased intake of
blueberries, apples and pears may be associated with a reduced risk of
diabetes. The research was funded by the National Institutes of Health.
White Rice Consumption May Be Linked To Increased Risk Of Diabetes.

of diabetes, a new study by Harvard researchers suggests that eating
less white rice could make a difference."

(3/17, Preidt) reports that investigators "reviewed the findings of
four previous studies conducted in the United States, Australia, China
and Japan." The investigators "found a strong association between
eating white rice and type 2 diabetes, and the link was stronger in
women than in men, according to the study published online March 15 in
the British Medical Journal."
