MedPageToday (3/20, Smith) reports, "More frequent dialysis may make patients feel better, but it has no effect on objective physical performance," according to research published online in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. Investigators reported that, "in two randomized trials, there was some evidence that self-reported health and physical functioning were better after a year of dialysis six times a week rather than three." However, "on three measures of physical ability to stand up, walk, and balance, there was no difference.
