Certain Factors May Increase Diabetes Risk.
The UK's Daily Mail
(1/10, Hagan) reports on "less well-known factors that can increase"
the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. These include "carrying a few
extra pounds around the waistline," regularly getting "less than five
hours' sleep," because "being awake when we should be asleep increases
the release of the stress hormone cortisol," having polycystic ovary
syndrome (PCOS) due to ovaries producing excess testosterone, "snoring,"
being pregnant, skipping breakfast,
"regularly changing shifts over long periods," and drinking fruit juice
instead of "eating whole fruits."
