Hemodialysis Using Solar Power May Reduce Costs, Help Save Environment.
CBC News
(1/6) reports that according to a study to appear Jan. 19 in the
Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, "using solar
power can make" hemodialysis "treatments more environmentally friendly."
For the study, "scientists created a solar-assisted dialysis program
in southern Australia. They set up four dialysis machines that ran
partially off solar power." Notably, "the program reduced power costs
by 76.5 per cent in the first 12 months."
