Study: Roundup weed killer linked to health issues.

Reuters (4/26, Gillam) reports a peer-reviewed study, published recently in the journal Entropy, noted that "glyphosate," the main ingredient in the herbicide Roundup, could be responsible for several diseases and cancers. Reuters notes environmentalists, consumer groups and plant scientists have previously warned about glyphosate's toxic properties. The FDA is reviewing the chemical, and has set a deadline of 2015 to state if its use should be restricted. Monsanto, the developer of Roundup and crops that have been genetically modified to be impervious to its chemicals, claim studies have shown glyphosate is safe.
