Acute Kidney Injury May Be An Increasing Problem In Cardiac, Vascular Surgeries.

MedPage Today Share to FacebookShare to Twitter (6/26, Phend) reports, "Acute kidney injury appears to be an increasing problem in cardiac and vascular surgeries," according to a study Share to FacebookShare to Twitter published online in the CMAJ. Investigators found that "severe cases marked by need for acute dialysis after major elective surgery -- although rare -- rose year over year from a rate of 0.2% in 1995 to 0.6% in 2009." This "increase was primarily in cardiac and vascular surgeries."
