Preeclampsia During Pregnancy Not Linked to Persistent Kidney Dysfunction.

Women with preeclampsia during pregnancy do not have a higher risk for kidney dysfunction decline later in life, according to a new CJASNstudy  that followed 89 women with preeclampsia and 69 women without over an average of 10 years. At follow-up there were no significant differences in kidney function, as measured by eGFR, between the two groups. The authors noted that women with preeclampsia tended to have higher eGFR levels at baseline.
