St. Jude Wins European Approval For Blood-Pressure-Lowering Device.

        Bloomberg News Share to FacebookShare to Twitter (5/16, Cortez) explains, "The EnligHTN system has multiple electrodes on a catheter that is threaded into the kidney artery, allowing doctors to ablate the nerves in an efficient and reliable manner, the company said. The device can produce four ablations in 90 seconds, potentially saving time, cutting costs and reducing the exposure to radiation."
        Trial Of 47 Patients Shows Drop In Systolic Blood Pressure. Bloomberg News Share to FacebookShare to Twitter (5/16, Cortez) that a "trial involving 47 patients found St. Jude's EnligHTN device cut systolic blood pressure...by 28 millimeters of mercury after 30 days." The trial results were "released today at medical meeting EuroPCR in Paris."
