Hispanics Live Longest Among Dialysis Patients.

Hispanics were least likely to die and non-Hispanic whites were most likely to die over an average follow-up of 22.3 months among more than 1.2 million adults identified in the USRDS who underwent dialysis between 1995 and 2009. Blacks' risk of dying was in between these two racial/ethnic groups. This pattern held true in all age groups, except for the youngest (18 to 30 years), where blacks had a 19% increased risk of dying compared with non-Hispanic whites. The findings are published in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
